England National team has a new buzz around them after a fruitful 12 months under Gareth Southgate. When he took over the national team not many expected the former Middlesbrough player to quickly turn around the fortunes of the national team.

The latest 5-0 defeat of the Czech Republic at Wembley shows the level of progress that the players have undergone under the coach. Gone are the days of players flattering to deceive in the national team like Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andros Townsend.

The England squad is filled with players that are at the top of their game and this has shown with the selection of Southgate. A forward line of Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane is good enough to tear most opposition defenses in the world.

The stability in the midfield where the underrated Jordan Henderson holds sway alongside dele Alli has seen the level of creativity increase. The defense is perhaps the strength of the team as there are lots of quality options for the team.

The upcoming UEFA Nations League pits the three lions against the Netherlands in what promises to be an exciting game.  The Dutch have improved in the past six months with Virgil Van Dirk and Memphis Depay playing excellently for the team alongside young hotshots Frenkie De Jong and De Ligt.

However, England should be favourites as most of their players play in the top six teams in England. it is no surprise that all the top six teams qualified for the quarterfinals in all European competitions. it would be a disappointment if the England national team fails to defeat Netherland in the semifinal.

The final would be against Portugal or Switzerland who are both a level below the current form of England. 2019 could be the year that the title drought is broken for the Three Lions.
