Many would not agree that Alan Hutton is the fastest player at Aston Villa after a report named him as such; the player has given the tag to former skipper Gabriel Agbonlahor.
Wingers Andre Green and Albert Adomah come close as the fastest players at the club, ahead of the aging Scot.
When asked, Hutton pointed fingers at Agbonlahor.
“Gabby. He’s still got that five or ten yards burst of pace. Definitely him,” Hutton said without hesitation.
The player is recovering fast. He sent messages to the fans through his Instagram handle.
“When they think ur finished but you come back fighting. Last stage of rehab nearly done see u soon,” the veteran striker posted with a picture of himself at Bodymoor Heath alongside his teammates.
The player sustained the injury during a training session ahead of the Nottingham Forest match. He has been working hard at regaining full fitness.
“Gabby has a bad one, just as he was getting back to being Gabby, he has suffered this injury. His hamstring has gone and it’s a shame for him. I was really pleased with how he had played against Preston North End,” Coach Steve Bruce said.
The soccer legend is yet to score since February last year when he grabbed a goal in the 2-0 victory over Norwich. Many have asked that the player retire from the game but he has been working hard at reclaiming his past glory so he can exit on a high. The 30-year old has played his entire career at Aston Villa. He has had loan spells at Watford and Sheffield Wednesday in the2005/06 season but has remained with the club all through, despite big opportunities when he was in his prime.
