BRUCE OPENS UP ON AGBONLAHOR AND ONOMAH’S INJURIES

Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has opened up on the injuries of Gabriel Agbonlahor and Josh Onomah after the victory against Norwich City at Villa Park.

The coach says Gabby missed the game due to back problem he is battling.

Gabby missed the 4-2 win over the Canaries as Keinan Davis stepped up for the start. The 19-year old striker was impressive in the role. Aside Agbonlahor, Scott Hogan missed the game as he was fully recovered from his ankle problem. He was placed on the sub list though. Mile Jedinak also missed out after complains of feeling sore upon return to training. Onomah featured in the game but was pulled out after a head injury.

“Hogan wasn’t fit enough to start and Gabby had a bit of twinge in his back. Josh has got a head injury, we don’t know how bad he is but that was a bit disappointing. Mike was close but was sore yesterday with the work we’ve put into him, so we’ll see how he is in the week,” the manager said.

The victory comes after a 2-1 loss to Reading a week earlier. The team was brilliant against City as they won their first Championship game of the season. ConorHourihane grabbed a hat trick, netting in the 22nd minute before adding two in the second half. Andre Green was also on target, grabbing a goal late in the first half. Josh Murphy and Nelson Oliveiria scored the goals for the visitors.

Hourihane scored the consolation when they played guests at Reading the week before. He combined with Agbonlahor for that goal and would be pleased to have impressed in the veteran’s absence.

Gabby Agbonlahor ready for new season

Gabby Agbonlahor said that he is ready for the new season and that he is working hard in training.

He said that he is excited about the new season and that he is desperate to help Villa win promotion back to the Premier League.

Gabby Agbonlahor said that last season was quite difficult for him as he was frozen out of the team at the start of the season. Indeed Roberto di Matteo did not allow the player to play for the team and he was only reinstated in the team when Steve Bruce took control of the team.

He said that he made the most of the few minutes that he had in the team and that he is looking for something different this season. He believes that he is in good form and that he can help the team score some important goals.

This would be the 12th year that Gabby Agbonlahor will be spending at the club, and he would want it to be quite memorable. He said that there is a good atmosphere in the team and that each player is looking forward for the new season.

He said that the signing of a quality player such as John Terry has brought excitement around the team and that they cannot wait for the new season to start. He said that there is a good mixture of young and old players in the team and this could allow them to last the whole campaign.

He admitted that his fitness level was not quite good last season due to the fact that he did not get enough playing time in the team but he wants to make it differently this season.

Gabby Agbonlahor said that he has early and that he has started working on his fitness level so as to be ready for the new season.

Gabriel Agbonlahor wants to continue performing for Aston Villa

In recent years, Gabriel Agbonlahor has failed to score goals on a consistent basis for Aston Villa.

The English attacker has managed to get plenty of time in the pitch as a member of the 1st team but despite the plethora of minutes that Agbonlahor is and has been getting in Aston Villa; he has not been able to prove his worth in the battle field.

The veteran English forward has recently even gone through a goal drought which extends for over 1 year but during Aston Villa’s English Championship League match against Birmingham City which was played on April 23 of 2017, Agbonlahor was the only player who scored a goal in this game as he ended his dry spell of goals.

This goal that Gabriel Agbonlahor does not really make an impact to Aston Villa as they are safely above the relegation zone and reaching a promotion spot is already out of their realm of possibility, so this goal and victory does not have any significant influence towards the end of the season for Aston Villa but nonetheless, it still was hugely symbolic for Agbonlahor as he even went on to his social media instagram account and said:

“On a personal note it’s been a bad few years for me on the pitch but I’m only looking forward now to many more games for this great club’’

‘’P.s Sunday was my favorite goal in all my derby games.”

Gabriel Agbonlahor was recently being linked with a potential move to another club, rumors were suggesting that the 30 year old attacker could be interested or that he was thinking about making a move to the MLS but with this message that Agbonlahor released on his social media account, it seems like he wants Free Bets Now to continue performing for Aston Villa.

HUTTON: AGBONLAHOR IS SPRINT KING AT VILLA

Many would not agree that Alan Hutton is the fastest player at Aston Villa after a report named him as such; the player has given the tag to former skipper Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Wingers Andre Green and Albert Adomah come close as the fastest players at the club, ahead of the aging Scot.
When asked, Hutton pointed fingers at Agbonlahor.

“Gabby. He’s still got that five or ten yards burst of pace. Definitely him,” Hutton said without hesitation.
The player is recovering fast. He sent messages to the fans through his Instagram handle.

“When they think ur finished but you come back fighting. Last stage of rehab nearly done see u soon,” the veteran striker posted with a picture of himself at Bodymoor Heath alongside his teammates.

The player sustained the injury during a training session ahead of the Nottingham Forest match. He has been working hard at regaining full fitness.

“Gabby has a bad one, just as he was getting back to being Gabby, he has suffered this injury. His hamstring has gone and it’s a shame for him. I was really pleased with how he had played against Preston North End,” Coach Steve Bruce said.

The soccer legend is yet to score since February last year when he grabbed a goal in the 2-0 victory over Norwich. Many have asked that the player retire from the game but he has been working hard at reclaiming his past glory so he can exit on a high. The 30-year old has played his entire career at Aston Villa. He has had loan spells at Watford and Sheffield Wednesday in the2005/06 season but has remained with the club all through, despite big opportunities when he was in his prime.

MILE JEDINAK PRODUCES BATTLING BUT FLAWED DISPLAY

Despite a battling but flawed display by Mile Jedinak, Aston Villa’s ace man, they could not head on to win and stop their defeat by Norwich.

The two teams last season, had been relegated from the Premier League in the previous season, and have found it quite tough, since their slip down into the Championship.

However, the Canaries emerged as the victors in the recent game, coming off with a 1-0 win over their opponents, by a goal scored by Nelson Oliveira. The likes of Gabriel Agbonlahor, had been unsurprisingly turgid in the game.

However, one player who performed exceptionally well, and kept on battling till the game came to an end was Mile Jedinak, an Australian International, who recently moved in the summer from Crystal Place.

In the defensive aspect of the game, Jedinak performed creditably well and was able to produce a committed display.

He was so exceptional that he was able to handle seven interceptions, while winning four tackles and making a total of six clearances. In each of these, he had done more than any of the other midfielders on the pitch ever did. Also, he was able to block two efforts sent in by Norwich that was clearly bound for the goal.

However, one flaw in his performance, was in possession. Jedinak was only able to complete 54 percent of his passes, making him the lowest out of all players in Aston Villa’s outfield.

He however, should be commended for his input in the game. Compared to fellow team mate, Ashley Westwood who completed a total of 85 percent but could only attempt 21, in 90 minutes, he had done quite well.

Even though Aston Vila could not go on to win, he has drawn quite some attention to himself.

TRAORE AND AGBONLAHOR EXIT ASTON VILLA

Roberto Martinez is looking to further cull his team currently playing in the English Championship, after their relegation from top flight football.

The £7 million addition from Barcelona Adama Traore is set to join former long term skipper Gabriel Agbonlahor as they exit the club this summer.

Agbonlahor used to be the star of the team, having played for no other club despite the offers then. His form deteriorated to an unacceptable level, and his off-the-field issues hastened his downfall. He remains Villa’s highest goal scorer with the 73 goals in 322 games record. He couldn’t help the team when they really needed him last term, scoring only one goal. His current deal runs till 2018 but the club is willing to allow a free transfer after coach Roberto Di Matteo told him he was not part of the season’s plans. True to his word, he was excluded from the list that lost to Sheffield Wednesday in the season opener.

Agbonlahor said his goodbye through his social media account when he posted: “Thank u [you] for all your support but sometimes good things come to an end.” Following the Chinese takeover, Agbonlahor would be off the club’s books, with the club making additions. Chelsea’s Patrick Bamford and Huddersfield player Nahki Wells are said to be the top of Di Matteo’s list.

Aside the positions in the front, Villa are reported to be willing to splash £3 million to get Spurs defender DeAndre Yedlin. The club made him the next likely target as they continue work on getting Leicester City’s Ritchie De Laet before the transfer window closes. 23-year old Yedlin is set to leave White Hart Lane this season, leaving Villa to take advantage. West Brom defender James Chester is one the radar as well, despite six signings under the new owner so far.

AGBONLAHOR PLEASED AT ASTON VILLA TURN AROUND ATTEMPT

Aston Villa legend Gabriel Agbonlahor says he is happy with the way the team is working as they prepare to return to top flight football as soon as possible after suffering from their first relegation to the English Championship since the formation of the club in 1992.

The club hired former Blues manager Roberto Di Matteo to lead the team back to top flight football after they delivered arguably their worst performance in a season since joining the English Premier League. Agbonlahor, 29, suffered huge criticism for his role on and off the pitch in the last campaign, considering his history with the club. The player is now desperate to restore such huge confidence installed on him as they settle into the season to fight their way back up.

“I know there are a lot of fans that don’t speak too well of me and there are those that do. I think the fans do deserve to be in the premier League, as they always have been,” the former captain told Birmingham Mail. He added that the whole team would be fighting for the return from the first game.

Aston Villa legend Ian Taylor has backed the player to return to his best after his disappointing performance in the last season. Ian also pleaded for the fans to forgive the player as it felt as if he was not giving his best. He insisted that the player got what it takes to prove himself and says there’s still time for him to redeem himself, even at the Championship.

“Sometimes you can spend too long at a football club, and there’s been a few people saying Gabby should move on. But it he’s a Villa fan and if he wants to play for the football club, then he’s got to show it and prove it,” Taylor said.

Dennis Mortimer states that Gabriel Agbonlahor has been a mediocre player

Dennis Mortimer states that Gabriel Agbonlahor has been a mediocre player for Villa for all his career.

Former Aston Villa star Dennis Mortimer has said that Gabriel Agbonlahor has never been a good player for Villa and that he was the worst player of the current campaign.

He does not understand how a player like Gabriel Agbonlahor has been at the side for so long.

Indeed, Aston Villa has had a dreadful season and most of their players if not all have been underperforming this season. However, Gabriel Agbonlahor has taken the limelight for not only his poor performance on the pitch but also off the pitch.

He was even stripped of his captaincy role when he was pictured partying on the night when his club was relegated. This has not gone well with the Villa fans, and it is quite difficult to see him playing for the club next season.

Dennis Mortimer believes that this is the worst Aston Villa team that he has seen in his lifetime. He believes that there need to be significant changes in the side if they want to get back in the Premier League. He said that Gabriel Agbonlahor is a player that is past his best and should definitely leave the club in the summer. He said that even at the time when he had pace, Agbonlahor has never convinced him, and he cannot understand why the club kept him.

There are media reports that Roberto Di Matteo might be the next Villa manager, and this will definitely be the greatest challenge of his career. He will have major decisions to make in order to change a side that has been underperforming for so long. Some players will need to leave in the summer, and it is believed that he will be given money in order to sign new players.

GABRIEL AGBONLAHOR SET TO LEAVE RELEGATED ASTON VILLA

Relegated English Premier League team after the 2015/2016 season, Aston villa, are finally seriously discussing shedding their legend, Gabriel Agbonlahor.

The club is reported to be considering a move to Middle East Club this summer. The Telegraph reports that the centre forward that has been with The Villans for over a decade will be pushed out at the season’s end.

The striker has had a very poor run in recent season and has only scored once in 18 appearances this season. The club are keen to remove him from the wage bill as they prepare for life in the Championship. Agbonlahor used to be worshipped by the Villa Park faithful but he has enraged supporters this season with his off-field antics with The Villans are currently investigating the 29-year-old’s conduct after he was pictured with laughing gas canisters on the night they were officially relegated. Villa has had a very disappointing season earning just 16 points from 35 games played so far. The team also has an unparalleled -44 in goals difference.

Aston Villa have already suspended him once this campaign and it appears everyone associated with the club have grown hugely frustrated with their former hero. However, Agbonlahor has been offered a lucrative escape route as an unnamed club from the Middle East have inquired about his services. After making just under 400 appearances and scoring 84 goals in the process, it seems increasingly likely that the flop will sever ties with his boyhood club this summer.

The striker missed a lot of games this season due to injuries to the calf and a special leave making him not contribute anything this season. The Villans have lost their last seven games; from the 4-0 thumping from Manchester City to another 2-0 defeat from The Spurs, then losses to Swansea City, Chelsea, Bournemouth, Manchester United and even Southampton.

Will Gabriel Agbonlahor suffer the same fate as RemiGarde?

Following a string of defeats and underwhelming results, RemiGarde was sacked from his managerial role and relegation from the Premier League seems to be inevitable for Aston Villa in this season after only being able to seal 16 points from their opening 31 matches of the season.

A few months ago in January, Gabriel Agbonlahor was rumored on being offloaded from Aston Villa as he was dropped to the sidelines for a brief period of time, these rumors were shut down as the Englishman had sustained an injury around the same time but after recovering, the striker was able to restore his starting role position in the Premier League outfit.

However, after taking a closer look at the statistics of Gabriel Agbonlahor, it’s time for him to step it up or he might have to be released all-together.

Gabriel Agbonlahor has scored 1 goal from the 15 league games that he has performed in this season and it’s a fairly low amount of goals scored compared to other players in Aston Villa.

With relegation edging closer and closer, the decline of the club cannot only be blamed on 1 player as the entire squad has been struggling to perform at a high level and the next manager that decides to take charge of Aston Villa FC might have to offload a few other players who just aren’t performing at the level that is required for the club to stay alive in this season and avoid relegation.

The 29 year old English attacker Gabriel Agbonlahor used to be very explosive but things have changed as he is not the same player as some time ago and for someone who has been performing with Aston Villa since the age of 18, he has earned the support and love from Villa fans and would hate to see him leaving the club while there are others that are aware of the huge drop of form of Agbonlahor and know that in order to upgrade the team some players have to leave and the Englishman is one of them who is being linked with a move away from the club.
